Hello ;D
I'm based in England, and I really want to go to a kendama competition, but the problem is - I can't find any!
Are there any kendama competitions in the UK that are coming up? -Thanks :)
Hey Rhys,
In terms of actual *competitions*, there aren't that many, or at least, not formal ones. More common are meet-ups, which can be every bit as much fun. I believe there was some jamming in York yesterday, and there'll be quite a few at Bath (http://kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2953.0.html) in a few weeks.
We're still waiting for the date and details of this year's British Open to be confirmed. Last I heard they were rumoured to be happening in Exeter, in late April or early May. I hope we'll be hearing confirmation of those soon.
In terms of local scenes, as mentioned in the FAQ (http://kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,6.0.html), make stuff happen! Get a friend or two into kendama, meetup regularly, take it from there...

Lol I just looked and... the Bath meetup is on my birthday :-[ (so I won't be able to go). I've been trying to get a few of my friends into kendama at school, but it is kind of hard because I'm not great at kendama yet. I have convinced one my friends to start playing, though, so that's a start. Thanks for the reply :)
@rhys_goes_peace I think the closest meet up to you is one in Ashford that
@Its_mrdiz hosts every Thursday I believe. I am actually going myself this Thursday as I live on the eastern tip of Kent!
Because its winter its currently held in one of the players work spaces (Tattoo Parlor), but moves out side in the summer months.
As Void said you've got to try and get some friends interested. If your current level of play isn't enough to get them wanting to click you could try showing them some on line edits!
Good luck!

I did suggest to
@Its_mrdiz at the SRC that he posts a thread about his meetup on here. Don't you want more people to come, Diz? :P
@johndmc If your on Facebook you can check out U.K.K.C (U.K Kendama Community) for info.
