The Void

iTunes on random, throwing up great lost songs from years and listening patterns gone by....

Currently blasting out
Robot Man - The Scorpions
If you don't want to BUY MY BOOKS 😉, then why not ask your local library to order them in, and read them for free? That would help too. Cheers!

I love pretty much every thing this band has ever done. Here's a track from their most recent album, in my opinion it is the perfect example of 'beautiful' music

Menomena - Tithe

Thorny

Yay for post-rock! Although I'm not sure if it is haha, post-rock doesn't usually have lyrics.

I love most bands similar to what Alex had posted including The Echelon Effect, 65daysofstatic, The Best Pessimist or Explosions In The Sky.
Here's a good example of the genre from I Hear Sirens (called Breath On Glass):

Very late last night I heard this song and because I'm feeling festive I thought I'd share:

For the non-brits the East 17 song Stay Another Day was christmas number 1 in 1994 and has since become a staple christmas song on pop radio and at 90s nights, so this remix is both awesome and nostalgic. Plus the animations are really cool.

In terms of post-rock I have to mention And So I Watch You From Afar whose new album is really great.

Finally I'll throw in Purity Ring who have the cool-right-now-for-some-reason band dynamic of girl singing and man on synth/guitar (other great bands with this set up include Best Coast, Cults, Peking Lights, Visions of Trees, The Kills and everyones favourite indie-folk-pop[nb]Hoo-ray for hy-phens![/nb] duo Kings of Convenience). Plus they're really great live.

Enjoy!
BKO 2011 - 2nd, SRC 2011 - 2nd,  SRC 2012 - 2nd, EJC 2012 (unicorns) - 2nd, SRC 2013 - 2nd, BKO 2013 - 3rd - Always the bridesmaid...

Awesome piece of music ....incredible what comes out if 5 guys each"juggling" with 10 fingers on one guitar ... listening to it all the time  8).... enjoy

The Void

Often in these sorts of thread, I don't bother listening to the songs, but the thumbnail for that video had me intrigued. Yeah, that was really neat!

Hooray Purity Ring! The guy behind all the production is from Edmonton, a band I used to play in recorded with him a couple times. He's extremely talented, no wonder Purity Ring is so big these days!

Coldcut music is great if you want to edit videos
Luke burrage used cold cuts "More Beats and Pieces" in his top 4 jugglers of 2009 video
