Hello everyone! We apologize for keeping you waiting this long without solid information on which to base your travels. This was due to certain technical issues with the preparation of the tour that we were planning. Sadly, we had to cancel the tour in the end.

However, Maico, myself and a lot of European players, including the National champions, will be in Bucharest from Tuesday Sept 4th and staying until Monday Sept 10th. We will be up to a lot of shenanigans around the city, so come join us! :)

The competition weekend starts on Friday evening and will go on into Sunday afternoon.

For the competition weekend there will be the option to get a registration package that includes accommodation at the student’s dormitory of the Romanian-American University. The package is 115 EUR and includes the registration fee, a goodies bag and 4 nights (Thursday-Monday) at 2-bed rooms. Registration without accommodation is 35 EUR. A competition-only (no accommodation and no goodies bag) registration is 7 EUR. Spectators have free entry. The registration will open next week at www.sweetskendamas.ro/european-kendama-open-2018/.

The main division tricklists will be out next week. The Gloken-style cup tricklists will come out shortly afterward.

Once again we apologize for the delay and thank you all for keeping faith in us! See you in Romania! :)

The club is open next week, but I won't be there. I'll be there on 30th. Club will be closed on 6th & 13th August. (Hall being redecorated.) Mainly posting this for @Woodsy & @Mikegee 's attention. :-)

Nicely done!  Yep, guess it depends on how you do the fast throw.  I must have been leaving it really late and turning the ken almost flat before making the toss.

And yes, it is way too hot for long sessions out there.  Did have bit of a noodle on Saturday; pull up fast throw one turn string pull lighthouse amused me.  Not too tricky once you get your head around it, but ideal for annoying people in a game of KEN :)

I expect the kendama/county cricket fanbase crossover is pretty small, but since I've made this thread, I might as well put them all here.

Flat throws, strangely enough. I must confess, the only reason I was landing them with small lunar seemed to be that 8 times out of 10, that was the cup that came up!?!
Just tried these. Came close, but not quite. Seems like a flat throw must go to Opposite Lunar though, no? Needs a 1.5 or half-spin to go to Lunar, unless I’m not doing exactly what you are.

It's quite a late throw after the tama swings back up; at the most, the ken is doing a quarter turn I guess.
okay, cheers, I think I get it. Although I've not got it yet. :-)
Managed to get it a couple of times. It seems to come out to Big Cup most often for me, and with a half spin. I guess it depends on how you catch and/or release the ken. It was a little easier once I got the ball to rise up higher on the swing. Phew, it's hot out there... :-)

A live stream (archived) from earlier. Skip to 27:45. Unfortunately, the sound's terrible, & it's not zoomed in enough. :-(
