Answers:
1. Who made the dance of death?
The Scaramanga Six.
http://kendama.co.uk/galleries/voidstoys/pages/page_9.html
Okay, that wasn't really kendama-related, but we were just getting rolling...
2. How did pharayo roll?
Like a commando.
http://kendama.co.uk/EKO2008review.html
3. Why did "more knees" not apply to Mr Kinukawa?
Because he had a knee injury at the time he attended BKC in 2008.
http://kendama.co.uk/BKC2008review.html
4. How many missed the photo in Southend?
5 (Jamie, Marko, Steve, Tom, Kevin)
http://kendama.co.uk/BKO2012review.html
5. When was the forum launched?
04/07/11. The forum was installed and tested before then, but only officially LAUNCHED on that day.
http://kendama.co.uk/kendama-news.html
6. And how long was it before the first post was made?
Trick question! The first post was made on 24/06/11 (before the forum officially launched), so the correct answer is "minus 10 days" . If you just gave the date, we accepted that.
http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2.msg2.html#msg2
7. What could you "catch a smile" with?
A "Swingamajig".
http://kendama.co.uk/galleries/gbhcollection/pages/page_8.html?
8. At Doncaster, what were the two most unusual materials used to make kendamas?
Modelling balloons and Parsnips.
http://kendama.co.uk/galleries/BKC/pages/page_2.html
http://kendama.co.uk/galleries/BKC/pages/page_23.html
9. What type of kendama is that in the BKA logo?
TK16
This was the one where the answer wasn't really on the forum/website. If you were an absolutely amazing detective, you would have spotted "BKA logo from a photo by fakoriginal" at the foot of our homepage, which may have led you to somehow find http://www.fakoriginal.com/fak's_fotos/Chocfest_2008/pages/page_13.html , in which you can *just about* make out that that wood grain is not beech, which would have pointed to a TK16. But pretty much you had to guess.
10. Who introduced themselves first?
GbH.
http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2.msg5.html#msg5
11. What would you be doing if you "psyched out" someone?
Playing "Kendama Spin-off".
http://kendama.co.uk/spinoff.html
12. What was the main winning secret?
Practising running the list.
http://kendama.co.uk/howiwon.html via the news item titled "Winning secrets" at
http://kendama.co.uk/kendama-news.html
13. If a 3rd Dan player achieved each grading level at a separate exam, how many Around The Worlds did she do?
17 (Including the 2 in Speed trick B). "19" is an acceptable answer, if we assume her first STB attempt was not fast enough. In theory you could give any answer above 19 by saying "she kept missing her second ATW in her first STB run, and having to re-do the ATWs." Convoluted, but we would accept that.... IF you gave the explanation.
http://kendama.co.uk/tricks.html
14. What's the golden rule?
"If you're having trouble hitting a trick, remember the golden rule: MORE KNEES!"
http://kendama.co.uk/tricks.html
15. How many bounty prizes have been won so far?
1. It was new here:
http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,647.msg5798.html#msg5798 and NRC is the only comp we have run since then.
16. ... and name the winners.
Thorny.
http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,647.msg5897.html#msg5897
17. Which individual has spent the most time on the forum online?
Patryk.
http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=stats
18. Who is the most consistent forum player?
Acceptable answers are: Void, KendAlex, Mirek, and Thorny, who have each won 2 Consistency challenges. Half a bonus point if you named them all.
http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,448.msg3389.html#msg3389
We would also accept "Benjugglin", since (at the time the quiz was set) he held 3 forum records - more than anyone else.
http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,209.0.html
19. When did the first BKA Kyu grading exams take place?
At Huddersfield, April 2010. (BKO-time).
http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,292.msg2231.html#msg2231
20. Have you added yourself to http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=googlemap yet?
The correct answer is "Yes", but only if you *had* done so at time of entry!

1. Zelos N
2. Depending on the meaning (oh my English ... is there a bonus for foreigners): He was 4th in the STC or he rolled ,,commando-wise" (whatever that is) in the freestyle competition. You gave 2 answers. One was right, one was wrong. So... Half a point
3. He had a knee injury and couldn't bend his knees Y
4. Five (Jamie, Marko, Steve, Tom, Kevin) Y
5. On 24.06.2011 (date of first entry, however statistics exist since 30.06.2011), announcement on kendama.co.uk was on 04.07.2011 ...Well, "launch" is something official, so I take the 04.07.2011 Y
6. If you mean by someone else than the BKA: Dave on 02.07.2011; If you mean by someone after the announcement, it was GbH on 04.07.2011. Either it's confusing or I have it all wrong. Since I don't have the exact time of the launch on 04.07.2011 and I think that Guy's post on 04.07.2011 should be counted as the first, I'll answer 0 days (i.e. on the day of the official launch). N
7. The green and yellow Smiley-face Kendama (listed on Ebay on Jan. 2012) Well, you are "correct", but since you don't give the exact name... Half a point
8. Paper and butter. But acutally, I don't know (and that's the true answer) N
9. A shin-fuji N
10. Guy Heathcote (aka GbH) (then Void and Dave ... how many do you need for ,,themselves") Y
11. Cuddle her - really (English ... what a difficult language) N
12. Seems like it was ,,run through the list" – but we all know it's ,,More knees!" Since you discounted the second half of this answer in your answer to #14, we'll accept the first half of this answer! Y
13. 15 (1x 2nd Kyu, 2x 1st Kyu, 3x Pre-Dan, 4x 1st Dan, 5x 2nd Dan) N
14. More Knees! Ah, then it can't be the winning secret ... Y
15. Difficult to say, I'd say two: One at the NRC 2013 by Thorny, and one at the BKO 2013. But that's really tricky. At the NRC 2013 Thorny beat Matt (see forum) but the anouncement for the BKO 2013 still names Matt as the reigning champ ... you're driving me mad N
16. definitively Thorny (NRC 2013, got it from Matt Nix, which means Matt had it before, but the forum says, that the bounty was invented after Matt became champion, so he doesn't count IMHO). Now I never found the results of the BKO 2013, so the name must be <replace name of BKO advanced division winner here> You gave 2 answers. One was right, one was wrong. So... Half a point
17. Patryk, and with only three days left for the quiz, he can't be beat (25d vs 10d by Void) Y
18. Void, Mirek, and Thorny all won the kcc three times. But with a total of 4h vs 11d (Both Mirek and Thorny) I'd say it's Void. Now you would have to take into account the difficulty, but I'll leave that for today ☺ Y
19. According to the Register of Kyu grade players and a forum entry it was on 09.04.2010 (just as a one-off event). Regular exams started at BoB juggling convention, 21.01.2012. But my answer is 09.04.2010 Y
20. yes Y
Score: 11.5

Wow great! Many many thanks. I had much fun answering that stuff shortly before deadline. Maybe too much fun, otherwise I wouldn't have played with the answers so much. I think that cost me easily two points.

I do like juggling/kendama T-Shirts and I'm looking forward to the ball and cup. I can't remember who published a video with 40 tricks to catch it the other day, but I wanted one.

Probably the package is already at home before me ... I'm in Japan again :D But alas, I don't have time meeting any Kendama players here. Except: Does anybody know anybody in Sanda (Hyogo prefecture) who's willing to click with a Gaijin?

Thanks again BKA. The forum is such a fun place to be ....
