I came across the concept of Ote Dama a while back. Apparently juggling self made beanbags was very popular at one point in Japan. So much even that older people will supposedly refer to juggling as otedama. The concept is juggling beanbags in certain patterns (like jacks), most of the time accompagnied by singing. More information can be found in this article from 1996: http://www.juggling.org/jw/91/4/otedama.html

At this point, I think it is most popular among hobbyists that make the beanbags.
Anybody seen this before? Or can point me to some more information?

There is a similar game in Spain called "Tabas", this is the english link to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knucklebones

It is played with a bone that can be found in the feet of animals
