Some of you might've read this already.  It's the review I did for Mirek at kendama.cz.

i've had mine about half an hour and there are already chips in the paint  :-[
but they do play very well.
as misterjumpshoe said very good for suicide tricks.
just falls into the hole :)

I like mine but realised very quickly they do not play like a normal oozora.
The bead also pops out easy, a feature I like in a dama.
My summation: no good for tama grip balance tricks, good for bird type tricks and general juggling. Pick one up if you can deal with the higher price and want an interesting piece for your collection

@AlexSmith have you tied a knot in the string near the ball?  Do that and the metallic blue is excellent for secret grip tricks.  I used it for those on my Edit V.

@MisterJumshoe I have done two things that I like better than tying a knot in the string, because the knot can be annoying if it gets in a cup under the ball.  1 cutting a piece of cork into a hexagon shape and sliding it inside the whole, because you can take a pencil and poke it to take it out whenever you want.  2 when holding tama grip have my pinky and ring finger slighty pressing on the string, so it wont fly out of the hole, but that takes a little getting used to.

I've never tried that, usually I'd rather the string can pop out of the ball then not, the string doesn't get all twisted up then. Plus it allows you to do 'bead grab' sort of tricks.
