My friend Nigel had some bilboquets made:

I told him I think they look nice, but that the ball needs to be about 50% larger (IMO). Get in touch with him via FB if you're interested in one (see link for details).
If you don't want to BUY MY BOOKS 😉, then why not ask your local library to order them in, and read them for free? That would help too. Cheers!

Quote30cm tall in oak. I don't think the shape looks that great but it's a good start. I think the spike needs to be narrower and the ball needs to be a bigger. And I need to improve at making spheres. Once the ball is more uniform I'd think about matching the hollows to the curve.

As a pepper grinder it works well as long as you wind the excess string onto the spike to keep it out of your food.
