Title: Youtube "device not supported" embedding problem
Post by: shalafi on 08 May, 2015, 23:02:46
Since a couple of days, each time we try to embed a video, youtube shows a device not longer supported video.

I did a quick search and I found the official announcement: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6098135?hl=en

Which says: If the video appears unexpectedly in a web browser, it means that website is using an outdated method to access YouTube videos

So that's probably what is happening to the forum. I haven't found documentation on how to solve ti thou.

I think the youtu.be versions of links still embed.

It seems that if you use the link that YT gives you from the "share this" button, of the form...

http://  youtu  .  be  /  dhi371HwnT6

(Without spaces), then it still works.
Annoying, but there you go.

OK, we'll use that for now.
