I was wondering what is the best way to clean a kendama.  My kendama's ken has turned black and needs cleaning.  Or should I just leave the soot???

"Soot"? What have you been doing to it?!  :)

We've never tried to clean a kendama, but a google for "removing grime from wood" throws up several options. Let us know how you get on with whichever method you go for. Or if anyone has any experiences to share, we'd like to hear.

"Soot" is probably the wrong word. "grime" or "dirt" is probably a better word.  I'll check out what google says.

I've dropped kens in water before while playing, and that seems to wash some of the dirt/crap away. A light hand sanding with a high grit sandpaper would work well too, I've done that to one of my Terra's before to bring back some of the wood's shine.

Scrubby from the kitchen dude. Wet the scrubby and give yo' wood a rub down. Clears it right up.
