So I got my first kendama in the mail today (Blue Ozora) I noticed while I was getting my tricks down that the kendama kept coming lose and it would just fall apart but still attached to the string so I just twisted it back..

Is this normal for a kendama or am I doing something wrong ?

Thanks

Yupp perfectly normal. I just got a yellow today and it does the same thing after a little bit. Some use a small amount of white glue (NOT SUPERGLUE) to increase the friction and ultimately lower the amount it falls off - but tread careful, if you glue it too much and it doesnt come off its bad news. Someone on here has broken their dama because of this.

I recently started using a brand new Ozora (blue). Had the same issue after a few hours. Just twist and push it really hard once (e.g. against a table) - don't hit it. Mine works perfectly now, never loosens again.
