I need a couple of tips for juggling to the spike. I can do juggles, double juggles, triple juggles to big cup, and also juggle to lighthouse, but i'm having trouble getting the rotation on the ball needed to perform juggle to spike. Any tips suggestions are appreciated thanks :)

Are you consistently over- or under-rotating the ball? Or is it more like "uncontrolled random spin"?

udgfxp

@BKA sometimes it's uncontrolled random spin, other times the ball doesn't spin much at all where the hole is perpendicular to my body so it is an awkward position to spike

Okay, then you need to become a Master Of Time.
Use your superpowers to view everything in slow motion. (Yes, this sound stupid, but bear with us....)

Before you throw the ball the final time, you need to have made sure you caught it in a good/easy position to throw from. So try to work out when you last had control over the ball, and whether at that point you can try to control the hole position. If so, all good. But if not, you have another chance when you catch the ball. There should be a split-second of time before you throw it again where you are holding it. In this microsecond, you can gently twist your grip, or your hand position so that the hole is visible, or aligned forwards-backwards. Then you can have a little bit more control over the throw.

Also, think about how much/little "wrist flick" you are giving on the throw. Maybe you need more, maybe less. Experiment.

All hard stuff, but hopefully that gives you something to think about.

@BKA thanks :) is the throw somewhat similar to the throw when you're going to do a tradespike? I guess the reason I'm having trouble is because when i do juggle to big cup I normally don't really 'grab' the ball, but rather 'plop' it up with my fingers. Thanks :)

I'd say yes. But I'm terrible at this trick. :)
If you don't want to BUY MY BOOKS 😉, then why not ask your local library to order them in, and read them for free? That would help too. Cheers!

Im also curious if the "throw" is similiar to the throw in the tradespike

My juggles have improved, but I'm still not so hot on spiking from a juggle. @Maicodama ? @fiddletriks ? @Dimensions ? Or anyone else got any tips?

I think I could probably break it down in a few steps. 1) Spot the tama hole , 2) Grab the tama as it's in the air and semi control its rotation and the direction the tama turns. 3) place spike underneath 4) tons of repetitions. Most people make the mistake of slapping the tama which doesn't work. A longer string at the start when you're learning them also helps. Slow is always better when learning these. Avoid rushing the juggle.

@Maicodama by control the tama do you mean kinda roll the tama a little during the throw? if that makes sense

Maicodama

@Ethanlkeler. I wouldn't suggest rolling it because you give it too much of an over rotation and so it's hard to spike but the idea is to basically grab/cup the tama in the way that slows its rotation mid air enough for you to track the bevel to spike.

@Maicodama Interesting, Ill try and do that, thanks for the tip :)
