Use a longer string!

You can try wrapping around other thinner part of your leg

My shortest string is long enough to wrap around my leg close the knee.

I also think that's pretty tricky with a standard length string, @LarsVegas , but...

- Use any competition-sized kendama.
...doesn't say anything about string length!

Yes, Void, exactly my point. If I remember correctly competition rules specify minimum string length, but no maximum

hmm, means I should re-string a Kendama. I don't like that ...

Not sure if you should, but you are definitely allowed to.

I just tried this and I think if you keep the throw really neat, it's do-able with a string length of plus two fingers below the base cup, and, Lars, I don't have the daintiest little legs in the world, I think you just need to work on keeping the throw real tight! Waiting on good lighting tomorrow to have a dig at this :)

As it happens it is harder than I expected, but it is doable with a 2 fingers string.

The other knee is not touching the ground, but it's properly bent, so I'll give it an ok. Looking forward to see the continuation @The Void

Ahh, d'oh. My fault for not reading the rules. Well, I decline to set a new trick until either I, or someone else, films it properly, as per the instructions. I may have time tomorrow, we'll see.

This one is perfect, the angle of filming is excellent.

So, what's next?

Thanks. Next is
139. [from Base Cup Under Opposite Knee (with Same Knee on the floor) ]> Nanchuku Aeroplane
Include both hand exchanges. You can stand up as soon as you start to move your kendama, if you like.

Arm sequence must be as Cima does in the video: Same, Opposite, Same.
Hand exchanges must be brisk (same speed as Cima - no pauses).
Go!

Shimadera-san looks really young on that video :)
