Well, we do keep getting new members, but I'm surprised that it's only about 2 or 3 a week, and not many of them post much, if at all. If the records thread was members-only, it might encourage a few more people to sign up and post their records. But then again, maybe it's a bit silly to ignore the fact that non-member records exist.QuoteHmmm... I wonder..... do you think we should make this thread for records for Forum Members only?[1] That would maybe keep it more interesting & competitive between us. And of course, if Ricky or Mahoto-san want to sign-up to the forum they'd be most welcome. Or should it stay as a list of "absolute" records? What do people think?i never thought about that in the first place, but i get a lot of attention on my facebook and youtube of my records, of people that can do more hits and they gonna try to beat me, i think records are suppose to get broken, and i think it will pump up the skills of every player, to get the consistancy skills too.
For me it is no problem to make a member threat just for the Forum members, but i guess you get more and more members every week now.
this Kendama Forum is the only English forum in Europe and maybe in the rest of the world.
Tell me what you think?
this one is for alex (little present at the end ;-) )Way to go Eelco, another goal for me to work on.
to all of the forum
a happy new year !!!!
Okay, here are a couple of "setting the bar" new records:
I reckon the first will last longer than the second!
hey guys sorry i havent posted anything on here yet but i have been following this thread for a minute now.Wow, a whole minute?! lol.
Quoteare we now measuring skill or boredom threshold?! :)
Hahaha, this really gave me a laugh! Skill or boredom threshold?!?! Of course skill. But please, guys, get used to make this in fast-motion, the next time...
no made up combosMaybe we should keep this as a "pure kendama" record list?

Thanks for the bonus Suicide 1-Turn Moon Landing!
Around Village and Around Prefecture records are yours.

But with regard to the Slip Grip Specials, we are certainly impressed with what you did, but unfortunately you didn't hold a single one of them still for the standard 3 seconds. That's a competition standard, so unfortunately, we can't give you that one, even though all of your catches looked solid. :(
Slip Grip Special 16xNo arguments there. Boom!
Record 31 Somersaults (Lighthouse Flips)Added... as a separate record for a stringless kendama. Well done. And welcome to the forum.
That's some impressive control! Interesting that he doesn't seem to take any effort in his set-up... just straight into the next attempt as fast as you like.
If your friend joins the forum, we'll add it to the list in the first post of the thread. :)
(And welcome to the forum yourself. Introduce yourself, if you like: http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2.0.html (http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2.0.html) )
1. | Your ATWs are "connected". i.e. You did not reset to start position between each trick. |
Well, maybe with a Performer I can do more. The kendama looks big to me, it is a Performer, right?
Oops, then this is unbeatable for me, at the moment. Impressive.Well, maybe with a Performer I can do more. The kendama looks big to me, it is a Performer, right?
Nope, it is a regular Ozora...
Oops, then this is unbeatable for me, at the moment. Impressive.
Well done happygoat. How appropriate that your current posting status is "Lighthouse Keeper". :)
...unfortunately you didn't hold a single one of them still for the standard 3 seconds. That's a competition standard, so unfortunately, we can't give you that one, even though all of your catches looked solid. :(In your first video, you were cutting the "3 seconds" pretty fine quite a few times, but we gave you the benefit of the doubt. But in this one, I don't think a single one was held still for 3 seconds, and some of them looked like they weren't even completely still before you took the ken off. So sorry, but your record remains at 25. We're sure you can beat that - just don't be in such a hurry. :)
...perform said trick, then without readjusting complete the same trick again and again and againWe went back and watched the existing record by Jarett, and he does a little finger twiddle with the hand holding the ball a few times, in order to adjust the string. So again, that would not be allowed in a live competition... but we already allowed it in the thread. Oops. So on that basis, I think we have to allow your new record to stand. Well done.
nice one void. i didnt even know what a moon circle was until i saw this!*cough* (http://kendama.co.uk/app.html) ;)
is that shpongle i heard playing in the background?Sorry, no idea, I wasn't running the hi-fi that night.
rulesWe were tough on Ben with the SGSs, so have to apply the same rigour to you for those Lunar ones. I'm afraid you have a rather sketchy definition of both "still" and of "3 seconds". Which is a shame, because it's clear that you can do those tricks well. We'd encourage you to have another crack at those 2, making sure you breathe slowly and count "elephants" or "Mississippis" in threes next time. For counting purposes, remember that the moment the balance is settled is not "one", but "zero".
-Balance tricks should be held still for 3 seconds.
(the addition of a hair scrunchie obviously improves consistency :) )No, just visibility! :)
Here's one. Clifftop. Edit:Sorry, JTV streaming isn't working right now. Scroll down for the download link if you can be bothered.

Cheers. That was a bit of an odd one. I thougt I could probably get 3 or 4 to beat my old record, if I had a good try, but they just kept on coming! Here's one. Clifftop.Eek, monstrous! Might have a crack at this one soon. Very demanding.
Dimensions, nice work! Remember you showing me these in Copenhagen, you've got them down tight now :)Hmmm, might be tricky for me to fight back on that one. Perhaps I'll have a crack at something else instead this afternoon....
I can only upload one video a day on juggling.tvThink that's a limit for new members. It goes away after a while.
So, "doable" then, shalafi? ;)Famous last words... Maybe with a stringless kendama. Also, I get a terrible grip after the juggle, so connecting is complicated...
I'm starting to feel bad for whoever will be verifying my new swing-in spike record...Hehe. Or is it whomever?Someone put the coffee on.... :)
He posted that 5 hours ago, do you think he's still at it?!

So curious. Nobody has the record of Big cup. I arrived more than 10. Someone more or I am a superhero?
Are there any webpage with all records? The very first post is a compilation.

-Balance tricks should be held still for 3 seconds. You're really pushing this on the first few, but JUST got away with it. 6 Hanging 1-Turn Lighthouses are yours.
not a fan of the back and forth swing, but still valid."When I read that, I thought "I don't do that, I only do a single backswing." Then I watched the video again. Ah. Right, okay. In my practices, I'm in the habit of starting with my hand quite far forwards, and beginning the backswing from there. It seems in his case I've been moving into the forwards position and then immediately starting the backswing, which does make it a "back and forth". So thanks for calling me out on that, and also for letting me off. I shall make a point of starting from a still position in future! Cheers.
I noticed there wasn't a record for Half-Swirl Aeroplane. I didn't do very much about it.@The Void , your attempt has been viewed by a moderator, and their verdict is...
