Hi all,

So I'm thinking about good form. This led me to consider consistent starting positions for tricks.

As an example, I noticed that for Tomeken / Spike in the instructional vid provided through this site that Donald has the Ken and Sarado in a position parallel / horizontal to the ground while Void's short cameo in the clip has him holding the Ken in the near vertical plane (also true of the animated gif).

Now these crazy cats know what they're up to and of course learning both ways simply adds skills to your repertoire but is there a preferred starting position in terms of good form for gradings or are both equally valid?

Both are valid. The near-vertical is the more usually preferred.
