Errr... the wood?! ;)

Cherrywood versions are heavier. Some notes on 2012 version here: http://www.kendama.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,771.0.html

PS Hello, and welcome to the forum!

Is cherrywood better for beginner / intermediate players? And would it last longer than the other type of wood?

Edit: forgot to mention I already have a black ozoora from Kendama USA that's I've been playing with for about 2 weeks.

Different people have different opinions about whether they prefer a lighter or heavier kendama, so "better" would be entirely subjective. But if you have an Ozora, then it perhaps wouldn't hurt for you to give a heavier model a try. The wood may prove to be a bit more durable. Not sure how well the paint holds up....

What type of wood would you recommend? The cherrywood or the regular wood?
