What does it need to be an examiner? How can you become one?
Examiners can issue BKA gradings. PM sent.

Psst.. I'm now a certified examiner (I think the only one in N America?)
So, if anyone reading this is interested, and in N America, and attending an event I'll be attending, then let me know you're interested!

Errr, yes, but we only announced examiners who are in possession of the paperwork, and therefore currently able to actually carry out an exam. I'm sure we'll get that sorted out soon though! (Same goes for Raul). But good to have you aboard!

AlexSmith

Ah, yes that makes sense. Once I'm back home I'll be in touch!

Update.

Does the beginner start from 1 or 10? and how many tries do you have and what do you need to do to pass the first level? Sorry for all the questions I'm just new to Kendama and I don't get the table :/

BKA

10 is the lowest Kyu grade.
You have 10 attempts for each trick, and for 10th Kyu, all you need is 1 Big Cup out of 10 tries.

Polish_Matt

Sounds fair to me! I could probably get to 1kyu I have been practicing everyday! (For seven days now) Is there any age limit? Oh yeah and thanks for a quick reply!

BKA

No age limit. You're welcome.

Polish_Matt

Where would I have to travel to take an exam? (I am from Scotland, Dunfermline)

Seven days to get to 1st Kyu from scratch ... I'm doing something so completely wrong ...  or Polish_Matt didn't start playing at all only seven days ago.

Donald Grant is your nearest examiner. Send him a message on the forum, to see if/when he's available.

@Lars @shalafi : Where someone thinks they can get to, and where they can get to aren't always the same. Who knows....
