Title: Sunrise history?
Post by: HansNickmans on 29 July, 2011, 12:56:10
I've been reading things about different types of sunrises. And today, while I was buying one for a friend, I noticed different packaging for the same brand. So can anyone enlighten me on the history and the different types? 'Cause the people in the store had no idea..

Thanx

What packaging did you see? I might have a bit of a clue....

The one I bought was in a pretty standard package, logo of sunrise kendama (made in europe) on the front. Black top with the text: craftsman made in the EU - beechwood design & manufacture www.sunrisekendama.com (http://www.sunrisekendama.com) and than an adress in Amsterdam. The other package was a bit more square and had a white top. I think these were the old ones with the paint that chipped off easily, since they had one tryout-model out of the package which was already in a very bad state.

The first one you described sounds like the current packaging. I only got a brief glance at it in April - haven't seen one in the flesh since, but I'm sure I will next week.
The other one sounds like it might be the one I've seen - A5-ish size white printed card with a few pics and some basic info on the reverse. This was (I believe) a temporary packaging, until the 'nice one' could be sorted out.
