Anyone have suggestions on what a good clear coat to finish a kendama custom would be?

I've tried Krylon clear, Krylon triple thick, and Molotow clear coats. They're all pretty good, but the Krylon takes ages to fully dry and the Molotow reacts strangely with some colors. Also thought about trying the Rustoleum Clear Coat, but haven't had a chance yet.
Anyone make a lot of customs that can give some input? Would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
